The Cure - Melbourne - TONIGHT
« on: August 12, 2007, 02:16:45 AM »
Hey everyone,

I'm going to see the Cure tonight here in Melbourne with my g/f. I've never seen them before and am not a huge fan, but have just been reading some reviews which said they play for 3 hours, with no opening band!!! Now that's value for money.

Anyone here seen them - or can give me an idea of what to expect from the live performance. Reviews have been very good!

NEXT WEEK
 - My sister is getting married (Sunday) and more importantly
 - Going to see Ryan Adams (Monday)

The Cure is hot!  I've never been to one of their concerts but I have a lot of their albums.

So Rob,
What did you think of the Ryan Adams concert? I believe that show is up for DL over at ryanadamsarchive.org.

Ryan was good. The sound was just amazing, and the band is so damn tight. But as usualy, ryan put on his "i don;t really wanna be here" persona for most of the night. Didn;t even play an encore (but did still play for 2 hours). Having said that, I couldn;t really care if he acted like the biggest asshole in the world, the show was FANTASTIC.

I should say also that the cure was great the weekend before. They played for 3 hours straight - no opening band, 3 encores and the sound was fantastic.

oops - and my baby sister got married, which was also a great day!

OH MY GAWD!!!!!  You lucky basturd! :hehe:  Ahhh 3 hour + concert of one of the best bands ever, nothing better!   Just wonderin, did they have a keyboardist with them?  I kinda lost interest ever since the 'boardist left.. it made the songs that much better cause they'd be playing their better songs.. The playlist  wasn't too shabby.. http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/chainofflowers/aug1207.html

Steve, they played without a keyboardist - which I actually liked, coz the guitars were really solid and clear. Robert played on all except about 3 or 4 tracks which was cool. It was FUCKING LOUD

:D  well I'm just glad you liked the show... and yeah every concert they play is loud, and I fucking love it.  It's the way it's supposed to be, ears ringing for a few hours to a few days.. pure awesomeness!
