I remember hearing a live acoustic version of Mr. Jones on the radio sometime in the nineties. (Can't remember the year, did they do Mr. Jones acoustic before RTS came out?)  The lady on the radio was all "oh listen to this, this is so great", and I thought it sucked because it didn't sound like the album version.  ;D   That was the first time I heard them live. I wasn't used to bands playing around with their songs back then.

My best guess is it would be the Storytellers/Across a Wire performance. I think that was a single. They did do Mr. Jones acoustic a few times before RTS came out, though... maybe in some radio sessions.

I think it must have been before Storytellers, maybe some promo thing that only radio people got hold of.

Could've been from the Mountain Stage compilation CD. There's an acoustic version of Jones on there pre-Satellites. But I do think there were different radio promos too from old radio sessions because from time to time the Coffee House on Sirius XM plays this great old acoustic version of "Round Here" and I have no clue where it's from.

wfuv.org (public radio from Fordham university) plays the live acoustic version of Mr Jones that was recorded at Mountain Stage. It's part of that live Mountain Stage comp album. I think it's from 1993.
