WARNING: Only for broadband connections. This is important!

This is a step-by-step tutorial to speed up your Firefox.

1. Write about:config in the adress bar.

2. In the filter bar type network.http.pipelining, and double-click it. (It'll change from False to True)

3. In the filter bar type network.http.proxy.pipelining, and double-click it. (It'll change from False to True)

4. In the filter bar type network.http.pipelining.maxrequests, double-click this option and set it to 8(eight).

5. Double-click anywhere and click on New > Integer. Name it nglayout.initialpaint.delay and set the value to 0(zero).

Let me remind you

Before I do this, can you tell me a couple of things?  What exactly does it do?  Is the process reversible?

What this does is increase the number of requests sent to the server and decrease amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives.

Yes, it is reversible, just change the values back to the original values.

I have never done this hack, as I have never felt a need to do so. I am running the ff 3.1b2 and it is fast enough for me.

FYI, some people have reported problems with these settings. For more discussion you can read the following:

I don't advice this trick because if everyone does this process then it will grow by huge the number of requests and it would crash the server.
