And now, what's happening now? Was reputation_pos.gif the only infected image you had before or was your list as long as Jims?

my guess is that maybe a new trojan has appeared lately (like they do every time), and as its not fully known yet, tha antivirus mistakes somes 'suspicious files' for viruses. it happened to me once with avg, which is known for giving false positives (at least the free version).

Sorry Chris....crashed for the night so didn't get back to you.
Got a new one just now when I opened the audio torrent section, but was too tired to remember to copy the details. It was different though.
Don't get them every time I open a new thread........seems to be a bit random.......and not as frequent as Jim was getting them (although I think he may have been saving the details for a while).

Chris, I'm not getting it now. I'll try going in a few threads and see what happens. But I had been getting it the moment I opened the site before.

Thanks for taking the time to sort it :)

OK, it's obvious replacing the images did some good. Lets see how it goes the next couple of days...

This is something to keep in mind though.

Yeah it looks like it did, thank you Chris.

If it happens again I'll let you know, but I've been in lots of threads this morning and it's not happened.

Urg, that's this little bugger and it's in everyones profile on the left of each thread. Did replace it twice yesterday and it has been fine for a while. It looks like the error comes and goes whenever it wants to and that Nicolas is right about the unreliability of free antivirus software.

I know, it was fine all morning, I switched my laptop off and when I came back to it I'm getting that meassge now plus the one Jim just mentioned.

You could be right about the antivirus software, is everyone who is having problems using free or trail software?

I use Sophos corporate software. Because I have remote access to the university servers, I'm allowed home copies too. This is no freebie......this is the megabucks all singing, all dancing job. And it's suddenly not liking the Crowstown site after all these years!
