Got there early, thought I was good to go. I was going to record audio with a Zoom H2 and marry it later with video, but that didn't work out.
I got great audio from the warm up band and then about 45 minutes into the Counting Crows, my batteries ran out. Yeah, I know, a fresh set should
last 4 hours+ and the fresh set was still in car. For the video, the camera was pointed at the "jumbotron" underneath the arch that was set up for
those who could not get closer. Took a few minutes to get it focused, but after that it is ok except for the occassional person walking in front of it
and blocking the view. The PA announcer had specifically stated there was to be no recording devices allowed, so it had to be covert.
As covert as it was, after the main set list someone managed to bump it over and we got some fantastic footage of somebody's backside for the
encore part. Audio is typical videocam mics and not the best.
Despite all the faults, fans may enjoy watching some of this, so let me know if you like it already!
The levee is kind of a nice place to watch a show. The Arch is impressive (Adam mentions as much - and btw he also mentions Pappy's
Barbecue -pretty good stuff there mister if you haven't been there before, you gotta go). If you look carefully, you can see the river flowing
in the background with a tugboat once in a while. Hope they come back to St. Louis soon.
I sat with some good friends all night, the beverages were cold and the evening was warm. The fireworks after the show were good.
My wife and kids were there as well as the new grandbaby. Way cool. Enjoy the show.
