The best and the worst CC verse
« on: July 29, 2016, 04:07:50 PM »
Which is the best and the worst CC verse (or part of music) for you? The best I mean that part that really touches you... And the worst what you think is very ridiculous

For me, the best:
It seems like the daylight is coming
No one is watching but me
But I dont mind the dark
Discovering the day
Cause the night is a beautiful bright blue and gray

Worst:
In 1494 he did it with the girl next door
In 1495 he barely made it out alive

Uho we can only pick one?  ???

Oh let me see what is the best en worst verse for me today then.

Best:

Carry me south to the sea
Along with your memories of me
We are born in the water
I will return to thee

Worst:

Man it's a miracle that she's not living up in a tree

(Which would make sense if she lived in a threehouse)

And lyricwise I am totally not feeling Palisades Park  :-\
Everybody's starry eyed

It's like I'm standing on the edge with just a telephone wire
Trying to get to you first to say the world's on fire

It's a miracle she's not living up in a tree because it's referring to the same girl from Monkey. Monkeys live in trees.

Best:

If you wrap yourself in daffodils
I will wrap myself in pain
And if you're the queen of California
Baby, I am the king of the rain

So so many great ones these two are the first that come to my mind

These train conversations are passing me by
And I don't have nothing to say
You get what you pay for
But I just had no intention of living this way

So I put my head on the ground
and the sky is a wheel
Spinning these days into things that I've lost
But you can keep all the years
But I don't mind the days
 gone rolling away
Cause all this sunlight feels warm on my face today

Worse  not bad or ridiculous but ...

So I write to all the girly magazines
Splash my passion on the pages in between

I love Goodnight L.A. it's one of my pillow songs :-* . Perhaps it's a good thing they are not playing it when I visit a show, I would be sleeping, not because it's boring but it is just totally zen to me.

In fact, some of the lyrics of SUW are a little bit "too much" for my taste. And this part of Dislocation is one of then... I dont know, sometimes SUW lacks finesse. I think Adam can write about everthing, including sex and other "nasty" or "darker" things, but there are better ways to do that. HC is an album full of good examples of how to talk about this kind of subject with grace and intelligence....
