Anybody know where this 'Round Here' was played?
« on: October 18, 2017, 07:15:00 AM »
When I first became a Crows fan back in 06-07, I found some indexed site with a about 10 links to Round Here versions. I downloaded them and made a cd of it all to play in my car for the next few months. The site soon disappeared and this is the one version I have yet to identify.

You can tell it's from 2003 with the Sweet Thing alternates. It's my favorite version of that type. You can hear the crowd singing along (especially during the final chorus), but they aren't distracting. Just a perfect mix for me. And Adam's voice sounds awesome.

Anyone heard this one before? I'd love to find where it's from and someday seek out the full show. The link's below and anyone can download it if they want (it's lossy but it's all I got).

I'm pretty sure it's the December 22, 2003 Wiltern show but can't find my copy. Maybe someone around here has a copy?

Technically, it isn't lost, it's on an old laptop and my first ever external hard drive both of which no longer work but are still in my possession. I keep meaning on asking my computer guru to back them both up on another hard drive but we usually end up drinking instead. and then, in the memory of my father, we discuss dr who and/or shortwave radios which I'm pretty sure my father enjoys because he knows how bored I am by the topics but at the same time excited to discuss in my father's spirit (its not that I don't enjoy dr who, I disenjoyed the many times that I'd invite alan over for the evening to hang out with me and dad and it'd turn into an entire weekend of the dr. An entire weekend). But...Alan is currently helping Richard Dawkins wth a project he started in the 80's and Dawkins work is probably alot more important to publish than backing up my drive. The work is at least older. The oldest boot I have is probably '88 or '89... I'll get them backed up eventually..

As for your question, I put anna-begins.com in the wayback machine and was completely at a loss to find only one of the two pages of alts for round here would display. I've used the wayback machine for a ton of things and sometimes I have to change the archive date but shit always ends up showing up (even when you wish it wouldn't). I will now post the screenshot of what and how I found. Please use this only for good & no evil (karma's a bitch ;) )

Step three: Select the year you think your information may have been posted and/or hosted (this is easy to change later if your unsure)

Step four: Select the month and day (this is only important during certain years in which the band was more active)

Step 6: Select "alternates" from the lyrics menu
After selecting alternates, there will be a wayback machine redirect, I'm guessing that Jules (the author of anna-begins alts directory) had a separate something THEREFORE
Step 7: grab a snack or a shot or something for a minute while you wait for the redirect ;)

Step 9: Jump for joy that the version you were looking for is on the first page (they are alphabetical by city rather than ordered by year).

Step 10 Search setlist.fm and after seeing what your missing from page 1 use the process of elimination. There are a ton of trolls on setlist.fm and at least one or more them fool CC fans every year (I'd say tour but they troll even during the bands vacay, it's truly sad the number of fans that believe the unbelievable setlists...)

As far as setlist go i usually use Simons database,i trust that much more than setlist.fm or the official archives.
